Bus Eireann Navan Town Service

Seirbhis Baile  ( June 2009 )
Bus Eireann operates a very comprehensive Navan Town Service & in 2009 introduced new Alexander Dennis Enviro 200's on the service.

3 routes radiate from the town centre ( Navan shopping centre ) to the various suburbs, commercial & industrial estates
Route A serves the Blackcastle and Clonmagadden area

Route B serves the Athboy Road, Clogherboy, Gainstown, the Trim Road and Brews Hill

Route C serves the Kentstown Road, Johnstown Wood and Kilcarn areas
Bus Eireann purchased 19 short  & 4 long wheel based Enviro 200's, classed AM  in late 2008, with deployment around the country in 2009.

The AM's used on the Navan Town service are operated from Broadstone in Dublin from their current allocation of AM 7 to 10. These AM's are outbased at Navan station, returning to Broadstone for maintenance. Broadstone's AM's are also used on the Blanchardstown to Ashbourne route 104, the Balbriggan town service & some local services from Bus Aras including the 107 to Kingscourt.
AM 7 to 10 are designed to carry 29 seated, with 14 standees. The buses have automatic kneeling suspension,  fitted with a wheelchair ramp & a wheelchair area on the nearside.
The Enviro 200 from Alexander Dennis replaces the popular Dennis Dart & still shares a number of components & features from the Dart.
All seats are high backed & fitted with seat belts.

The Bus Eireann spec includes a Cummins ISB engine ( 4.5 litre ) rated at 160 bhp, Enviro 200 body length 8.9 meters, Allison 6 speed gearbox & front/ side rear LED.
The AM''s are replacing the similarly short DPC class which were inherited from Waterford.
The Navan town service was originally operated by minibuses, both the ME Eurocoach & ML Leicester Carriage Builders.
As well as new Enviro 200's on the town service, Navan has also received new double decker coaches on the high frequency Route 109 Cavan/Navan to Dublin service.
New VDL Berkhof classed LD coaches are allocated to this flagship route.

LD 210 is seen coming through Navan town on its way to Dublin.
